 Leading Lady: Unmask Yourself

Many times there are misplaced identities in the world. Whenever we are not properly identified, we are misrepresented. It is important to always ask ourselves what our true identity is and what that thing we want to be known for is. We realize many times that people have been masked by their children, jobs, marriages, friends etc. Enough of tagging along unmasks you. This is not the year to sit down and mask you. Don’t mask yourself in your marriage, example of a woman who has masked herself with her marriage is one who is married to a man who sits at home all day doing nothing and as a result has become a woman who also sits at home doing nothing too, especially for a woman who is energetic and full of life, decide now to unmask yourself.

Don’t be friends with people that will not boost your true self, discontinue on those relationships. Bring out your true identity. Step out of your mask, let the true you come out. Allow yourself the golden opportunity for that mask to be unveiled. You have allowed yourself be masked for too long; let this be your year of unveiling; let people around you benefit of who you are; enough of hiding; don’t bury your identity. The longer it takes, the more difficult it gets to connect back to your identity. Allow yourself the golden opportunity to emerge. Some of these masks are not even imputed on you but they are mask that you have voluntarily allowed to veil you as a person. For some women, your husbands are not difficult but you have allowed fear to mask you of his person.

To achieve your leadership destiny, you cannot go in another man’s identity. This is the time; don’t go in another man’s identity. Remember the story of Jacob and Esau (Gen 27). Jacob took his brother’s identity to be blessed. Don’t pretend to be who you are not. For single ladies, don’t marry another woman’s husband in another woman’s identity; don’t pretend to be who you are not. The story of Leah and Rachel (Gen 29) is a worthy example, Leah masked herself to be Rachel and Jacob took her in, thinking she was Rachel,  imagine what Leah had to face in the marriage because she masked herself to be her sister. The challenge you are going through is because you have masked yourself.

When you connect to the real you, you become free, you have liberty in you, you become true to yourself People will learn to love you the way you are, appreciate you for who you are and connect with you for you. Some people have hidden so much that people you are supposed to be relevant to cannot see you and until they see you , they cannot connect with you. Some of us have to take decisive actions to unmask ourselves. Many of us need to break free from relationships that have masked us over the years. It takes a deliberate action to remove it and when it is removed, that is when the real you will come out and this is what the world is waiting for.
